It’s the book that everyone – and we mean everyone – seems to have read, and now it’s been announced that Colleen Hoover’s It Ends with Us is set to be coming to the big screen.
Yep, the 2016 novel that became a TikTok sensation last year is currently in production and if you aren’t already excited by this news, just wait until to hear who’s set to star in it.
Drum roll please…
Blake Lively of Gossip Girl and A Simple Favor fame has been cast as main character Lily Bloom, whilst Jane The Virgin’s Justin Baldoni will play neurosurgeon and secret arsehole Ryle Kincaid.
Taking to Instagram to share the news, author Colleen revealed that she’d been granted her ideal casting saying, ‘Our Lily is going to be played by Blake Lively. Blake Lively, y’all. She’s my dream Lily.’
She continued, ‘When I first met Justin Baldoni, who is directing the film for It Ends with Us, I immediately wanted him to be Ryle. I just thought that he had what it takes to play that Character. The good news is he’s gonna be Ryle. So we have our Ryle and our Lily.’
That just leaves Atlas Corrigan - Lily’s first love who suddenly reappears - to be cast and we’re curious to see who will be picked.
Just in case you’ve been living under a rock, It Ends with Us tells the story of Lily Bloom, a small-town girl who moves to Boston to start her own floral business. Once in Boston, she meets and begins dating Ryle Kincaid but after he turns out to be the not-so-nice-guy, Lily’s past – growing up in an abusive home – comes back to haunt her, as does her first love Atlas Corrigan.
Colleen Hoover is currently the highest-selling novelist in the USA having been on the New York Times’ bestseller list for over 90 weeks with over a million copies of It Ends with Us sold, even before her name became the most popular hashtag on TikTok’s #BookTok. Save to say, this film is going to be very popular!
