The reboot of Sex And The City, And Just Like That to find him in his final moments. Cut to the discarded Manolos on the shower floor. (Of course, there has been a lot of debate as to why Carrie didn't immediately call 911 - with even Jonah Hill asking the question on his Instagram.)

But the official podcast to go with the reboot, And Just Like That - The Writers Room, revealed that, actually, Carrie was supposed to find Big already dead, as showrunner Michael Patrick King said: '[Carrie] was going to be there but [Big] wasn't going to be alive.'

He then revealed that his mind changed after actor Chris Noth persuaded him that Carrie and Big needed a final scene together. 'He said "We need the last moment. It's silent, but we need to see each other and I have to give her permission to go,"' Michael said. 'And I was like that's amazing. Because then she gets to actually have a last moment with him because then we don't allow that for the rest of the next nine episodes.'

The writer also revealed that the luxury bathroom was made specifically for the tragic scene. 'By the way, the bathroom was built for that scene,' he said. 'I didn't want him against a shower wall. I wanted him open. So we built the most decadent spa bathroom ever, so that he could be opened and exposed.'

Michael also said it was Noth's idea for him to die after working out, so it felt more shocking. 'And we we created a Peloton bike after much discussion with Chris,' Michael added. 'Chris is like I'm not dying alone in the shower. And I think that what was interesting about our conversation is that dying alone in the shower feels like an old man and getting off a Peloton bike and having a heart attack feels like life.'

Since the first episode aired, Noth has been accused of sexual assault by numerous women. He denies the allegations. Last month, Noth's AJLT co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis said they were 'deeply saddened' by the reports - and supported the women 'who have come forward and shared their painful experiences.' Writing in a shared tweet, they added: 'We know it must be a very difficult thing for them to do and we commend them for it.'
