Without a doubt, one of the most heart wrenching moments of this year’s I’m A Celeb was when nobody greeted Caitlyn Jenner as she walked across the famous bridge to leave the jungle. Social media was deluged with people showing their support to Cait, all the while sobbing at their TV screens. (We’re not over exaggerating, as one person tweeted: ‘Nobody waiting at the end of the bridge for Caitlyn Jenner when she left the jungle has me BAWLING. What a lovely woman my heart is broken.’)
While James Haskell quickly rushed to meet the star, and she was later met at the Palazzo Versace hotel by partner Sophia Hutchins{
But now the mystery has been solved, as Caitlyn’s son Brandon Jenner, daughter Kendall Jenner and step-daughter Kim Kardashian have sensationally claimed that nobody from the production team asked them to take part in the show.
In messages obtained by the Daily Mirror, Brandon said that ‘nobody reached out’ and added, ‘I think it might have been a "storyline" the producers wanted to fabricate in order to get more empathy for Caitlyn. That's how that kind of TV works.' (To be honest, being a part of the KUWTK gang, he should know a thing or two about a good TV narrative.)
Retweeting a story about the comments, Kim then added, ‘Exactly what Brandon said!!!! NO ONE from I’m A Celeb even reached out and asked for letters, appearances or anything from any Kardashian Jenners.’ Ouch. Joining in, Kendall then retweeted Kim’s tweet, merely adding four exclamation marks.
Point = made.
However, not all was doom and gloom, as when Cait returned home Kendall and Kylie made a fuss of her, and in typical Jenner style, filled a room with balloons to welcome her back.
Hopefully the half a million quid she was paid for taking part will have cushioned the blow, but still, we can't help feeling that Cait deserved someone waiting for her.
