Need some help dealing with the crushing reality that summer is well and truly over? Lock yourself up and watch these.

1. Tangerine

Only like, the best movie to come out last year. Filmed entirely on an iPhone, Tangerine follows the day of trangender sex workers Sin-Dee and Alexandra as they make their way across the underbelly of a seedy, Christmassy Los Angeles. Sin-Dee wants to find the girl that her boyfriend's been shagging while she's been in jail and Alexandra wants to find fame. It's bizarrely heartwarming. Watch ASAP.

From September 1st.

2. Chef’s Table: France: Season 3

A friend of mine assures me that if one might find themselves having indulged in Class C narcotics (which I know none of you ever have), Chef's Table makes for the best watch ever. Check out profiles of some of the world's most accomplished chefs. This season, they're in France, so you know it's going to be special.

From September 2nd

3. Narcos: Season 2

There was a fair old bit of controversy surround Narcos Season 1 with South Americans who lived through the reign of drugs baron Pablo Escobar claiming the show glamourized what was an incredibly dark time. Nevertheless, it makes for a fascinating watch so make sure you keep mindful that it depicts a real time in Colombian history.

From September 2nd

4. The White Helmets

Netflix have gone big on the original documentaries this month and White Helmets looks set to be a tough watch. It's about Syria's White Helmets, the volunteer search and rescue team operating in Aleppo who've become known for their dramatic rescues of bombing victims. 5 year old Omran Daqeesh, the shell shocked boy whose picture swept the planet last week was one of their rescuees.

From 16th September

5. Audrie and Daisy

This documentary looks at what happens to victims after they report their sexual assaults. In 2012, Daisy Coleman and her friend Paige Pankhurst, then 13 and 14, were sexually assaulted at a party. The abuse they recieved in the months following the attack whilst Daisy's rapist walked free caused outrage. The documentary also covers the story of Audrie Pott, a 15-year-old who was sexually assaulted at a party then harrassed to the point of tragedy afterwards.

From 23rd September

6. Amanda Knox

The murder of British student Meredith Kercher took place nearly ten years ago. Last year, Amanda Knox, Meredith's roommate was exonerated of the crime after being free in 2011. Now, Netflix, in another Netflix Original film are taking a look back at the case.
