All The Best New Films And TV Shows To Hit Netflix In September

Toy Story 1 (AND TWO)

Bonus double Pixar feature from the films that put them on the map. If you’ve recently watch Inside Out and need another dose of the animation company’s undisputed genius, then settle in for a double bill of Woody, Buzz, Mr. Potato Head and Jessie. Both the first and second films are both just as good as you remember them, although for us, it’s installment number three that takes the cake.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1

Netflix are dead good at getting the Hunger Games films very soon (for Netflix) after they come out. If you still haven’t seen the first part of the last Hunger Games book to be adapted for the screen then now’s your chance before Part 2 comes to cinemas in November. This one features Julianne Moore and Phillip Seymour Hoffman and it’s every bit as good (IMHO better) as the first two films.

The Kite Runner

Right in the feels, this one. You almost certainly read the book when it came out in 2003 and, guess what, the film is nearly just as good. Following Amir, a wealthy man living in California as he returns to his homeland of Afghanistan after the son of his childhood friend Hassan is kidnapped, it deals with betrayals of the past, the tumultuous history of the country, and the dark side of war.

Return To Oz

As creepy as other ’80s ‘children’s’ films like The Neverending Story and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Return To Oz is the kids’ film about what happens when Dorothy *returns *to Oz along with her talking chicken only to find that the Nome King and a princess called Mombi have torn the place apart. The special effects will give you nightmares for weeks, but deffos a good one for a hangover on a Sunday.

Thor: The Dark World

Because it’s Chris Hemsworth with nice hair, innit?
