The Best Insults From Veep To Use In Your Everyday Life

Hold onto your pantsuits ladies, the scathing genius of Veep is back on our screens this week. The show, that's been dubbed the most ‘accurate’ show about American politics that’s ever been written, stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus as the Vice President (or *is *she? No spoilers here kids – promise) of the United States, who comes up against political clusterfuck after poltical clusterfuck, which her and her merry band of staffers try (and usually fail) to combat with teeth-grinding bitterness.

Created by Arnando Ianucci, it’s every bit a razor sharp as his other show The Thick Of It, perhaps even more so. The best parts are the ones where the cast take each other apart with all the ferocity of a polar bear attacking a lost seal. In fact, we’re going to start using some of the best insults in real life. Here’s a few of the best ones…

1. When your annoying colleague asks if you'd like to go for a drink with him after work.

2. When that really tall guy calls you out for stepping in front of him on the tube.

3. When your best friend mentions she might get back with that guy who gave her chlamydia.

4. When your boyfriend comes home drunk from the pub.

5. When someone tells you they feel sorry for your future children.

6. When your housemate asks to borrow your trousers for her date tonight, but she still hasn’t returned your top.

7. When you meet a guy on holiday who’s getting all handsy in a bar.

8. When your ex-boyfriend who cheated on you tries to apologise.

9. When your evil Great Aunt Mildred gives you £20 for your birthday.

10. When your mate says she’s going to use Tinder to find a nice guy.
