AND JUST LIKE THAT SPOILER ALERT!
Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristen Davis have been trotting the streets of NYC filming the Sex And The City reboot, sans Kim Cattrall for what feels like months now - but the iconic Samantha Jones just might be back sooner than we all think.
It was thought Samantha might be killed off to explain her absence (following a rumoured fall out with SJP) but lo, she’s not - according to set insiders, who’ve revealed there’s going to be a second series of the show.
In a dramatic development that’s left Lazarus shaking, Samantha Jones is alive and well and might be back; but only if she heals a rift with one time pal Carrie Bradshaw. Sound familiar?
A show insider told MailOnline that reuniting the sassy foursome could still be a possibility, but it sounds like there’s some making up to do first.
“Kim Cattrall's character is not being killed off, but instead her absence from the series is explained as having a falling out with Sarah Jessica Parker's character Carrie Bradshaw,” the source explained, adding that the “plot has been left open for Cattrall’s return” and are “hoping she’ll come back to reprise her role for season two.”
Yep, there’s allegedly going to be a second season of And Just Like That… - the same insiders have revealed it’s “not a one off series” so Kim might reappear one day, after declining to appear in the reboot.
And Just Like That… is due to air next month, and over the series, one of the storyline strands will see Carrie missing her friend that she fired - and that she wants to try and win back, reflecting on where things went wrong. Again, sound familiar?
The source added that Kim is much missed on set, but admitted they “have a lot of work to do to get Kim back.
“The door will never close on her, she is an important part of the franchise.”
Praise be for that.
