Not only was it THE big football derby in Manchester this week (where Man City massively took bragging rights from Man Utd by battering them 0-3 in front of a increasingly disappointed and frustrated Old Trafford) but this weekend the city is also host to come of the best parties. ‘Ideas festival’ Future Everything returns to the city with innovative live performances from Darkside, Koreless, Evian Christ and Dean Blunt, plus there are sets from L-Vis 1990, Dense & Pika and Jay Daniel.

. Daniel heads even further north the night after, for a night at my best-named-venue of the week, Stirling’s former pool hall Head Over Heels Dance Fitness. Stretch, bend and get your pulse racing from 10pm - proper dope basement vibes are promised.

Toddla T, Jus Now, Bok Bok @ Fusion & Foundry, Sheffield

Bok Bok & Friends @ Oslo, London

Saturday 29th March

Toddla T and his roving sound system warm up for summer (aka the time when they smash it the most) with this ‘It’s a Sheffield Thing’ billed night at the SU. As always expect MC DRS between Toddla’s mix of dancehall, grime, house and straight up ‘other’ classics. Shy FX, Mele and Jus Now (the team behind

. The release party for that is the night after at London’s Oslo - don’t miss, the &Friends are likely to be huge.

Darkside @ The Coronet, London

Saturday 29th March

As mentioned above, Darkside’s ‘Psychic’ was one of the best loved albums of last year. A collaboration between Dave Harrington and Nicholas Jaar (famed for ‘Space Is Only Noise’ and being friends with the offspring of Hollywood stars under his ‘Just Friends’ guise) they’ve already proved themselves as one of the best live spectacles out there. For 100% cold solid proof check out this rooftop session from NYC.

**Work It 6th Birthday @ Village Underground, London **

Drake Night 2 @ The Macbeth

Saturday 29th March

Work It has graced these listings before, and likely will time and time again. Need proof why? Then def get down to their 6th birthday celebrations on Saturday night, a who’s who of the people behind some of best night’s out you’ve had during that time. Mischa Mafia, Larry B, Crack Stevens, Siobhan Bell, Martelo and loads more line up. It’s six years of the finest bumping and grinding.

Across the way though, it’s a party celebrating only its second ever iteration - ‘Drake Night’. Yes, even though last time they said it would never happen again, the all Aubrey Graham night is back to celebrate the fact that he just spent the best part of the week entertaining the O2 Arena. Free if you turn up before 11 or turn up wearing all white everything, £6 otherwise. “The boy’s home” they say
