Do you remember when Paris, London and Milan were the fashion capitals of the world? As of this month, that is not the case. Last week Chrissy Teigan announced the name of her new bronzer with Becca Cosmetics was called Malibu Soleil. Next, Miley Cyrus dropped her new song, called Malibu. And then, yesterday Christian Dior flew journalists half way around the globe to – you guessed it – Malibu. Can you see what we’re getting at?
Located on the edge of Los Angeles, within touching distance of Kimye’s Calabasas base, it’s known for its long stretches of sandy beaches and wild untampered hiking paths. It’s a far cry from LA’s hustle, bustle and Hollywood starriness. As Dior’s designer, Maria Grazia Chiuri , told Vogue: ‘You think L.A. and you think Hollywood, Oscars, the red carpet, but honestly I feel people love this place because you feel in contact with the natural elements’ Indeed, this is reportedly what Miley also admires about the area and what drew her to move there with her fiancé Liam Hemsworth.
