There are lots of things to think about when you’re shopping for a new car, but some of the most important features that stick out to us are its impact on the environment, its new technologies, and how it looks. And as it turns out, these three factors are also incredibly important to the people at Great Wall Motor (GWM), who’ve just released their brand-new Ora Cat car.
And it ticks all our boxes.
“We play with style, design, music, and fashion,” says Rebecca Grajecki, GWM Europe Brand and Marketing Director. “GWM Ora stands for creativity and pure joie de vivre and occupies a niche in the electric car market. Nowadays, people are looking more differently for brands and products that express their identity,”
Discover why we love the GWM Ora Cat below.
Fully Electric
A brand-new electric model, the Ora Cat is powered by a single electric 126kW and 250 Nm motor, which is a fancy way of saying that it goes from 0-50km in just 3.8 seconds. You’re looking at about 250 miles from its 63 kWh battery and its range is up to 400km.
Electric consumption: 16,9 kWh/100 km
CO2-Emissions: combined 0 g/100 km
Technologically Advanced
The Ora Cat has been designed for the digital native generation, so it’s packing tomorrow’s technology under its hood and bringing you easy functionality and advanced features throughout. When you get in the car, facial recognition identifies who you are and adjusts the seats, radio settings, and navigation to your preferences.
The car’s also got 360-degree all-round view cameras, automatic parking system, highway assist system, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 for the intelligent cockpit, as well as Intel Mobileye for intelligent driving. And don’t miss the control features that allow you to stay in charge through voice activation or the app.
Chic Aesthetic
While GWM describes the car as having a vintage style with a powerful and aerodynamic appearance, we’ll simply describe it as chic. It’s a stylish take on the classic compact car aesthetic, and it’s done very well.
On the outside, the Ora Cat has got curves in all the right places, while features like retro headlights, mirrors, and five-spoke wheels are given the same degree of design consideration as its technology. From bonnet to boot, the Ora Cat is streamlined and sleek. Inside, the car boasts high-quality vegan leather seat covers, as well as a 20.5” central dual-screen display with a 4G entertainment system.
And finally, its two-tone colourway gives it that final fashion finish, making it look so good, and making us look so good in it.
