The Coolest Airbnbs In The UK That Are Still Available This Bank Holiday Weekend

I don't know about you but this bank holiday weekend feels like a special one. The weather is set to be genuinely nice, many of you lucky people will have just been paid and, well, any excuse to celebrate having an extra day out of the office.

So, if you were pondering getting away for a few days without actually leaving the UK, your first thought has probably been to scour Airbnb. We've done the hard work for you and picked out some of the coolest looking accommodation across the country that's still available to book* for the incoming spring bank holiday. And don't worry, we've found something to suit a variety of budgets because, let's be honest, your ASOS wish list ain't getting any smaller.

All properties available to book at the time of writing so if you’re keen, make your reservations sharpish before all your mates get there first…*

1. Jack Sparrow House, Cornwall

Jack-Sparrow-House-Corwall

Being able to say that you’ve been on a cabin holiday may seem like one of those strangely grown up things that seem really out of reach in your twenties, but who’s to say that you shouldn’t go and spend your bank holiday weekend in a cabin that looks like it’s been stolen from the Smurf movie? It’s a bit on the spennier side at £103 per night but split between the two of you, it’s not too bad for a pay day weekend vay-cay by the sea.

Book it

2. River View Log Cabin Pod, Ireland

Another cabin coming at ya, because we’re about that life right now. Except for this time, it’s in pod form and sitting at the end of someone’s garden. Might not specifically be what you had in mind for a weekend away but if you like cosy and quirky, this could be right up your street. Looks may be deceiving but an en-suite shower room and kitchenette all fit in that little pod along with two adults and two child-sized humans. All for a cool £45 per night.

Book it

3. Vallis Lodge, Frome

Right, this way if you’re looking for cheap, cheerful and idyllic. Also, how many Airbnbs do you find where the host cooks you breakfast? Very few my friends, very few. This room at the Lodge is £47 per night, has earned five-star reviews, is perfectly situated for a leisurely stroll around a new town. And if there’s not enough action in lovely historic Frome for you, Bath is only around the corner.

Book it

4. ‘Experimental Home’, Penwortham

FYI, Penwortham is up in Lancashire not too far from Preston and, according to the listing, this ‘experimental home’ featured in Ideal Homes and the Daily Telegraph Home Renovation Awards. It goes without saying that it looks really bloody cool and if you’re one of those people who likes to obsessively scroll through Pinterest for dream home inspiration, I get the impression that this place is pure #interiorgoals. And at just £35 a night too!

Book it

5. Mountain Retreat, Snowdonia

This is probably one to disappear to with your significant other if the two of you are in need of some very remote alone time. The building is crazy beautiful and is very Kate Winslet’s house from The Holiday meets Goldilocks and The Three Bears. You’ll also have your own entrance to the annexe if you’re big on privacy and if you’re into the whole hiking thing, well, you’ll literally be surrounded by hills and mountains for your perusal for just £32 per night.

Book it

6. Grand Designs Eco Home, Guernsey

That’s right. This is for all of my fellow secret Grand Designs fans out there. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to actually live in one of those heavily renovated, eco-friendly homes now’s your chance. For £70 you can have a 270-degree view (might need to revisit your GCSE maths book to work out what that looks like) over the coast. Also, the beach is literally on your doorstep. You’ll be Instagramming sunsets all over the place.

Book it

7. Brooklyn Lodge, Margate

Fair warning: you’ll probably never want to leave this one. Sure, you might force yourself to go for a little wander down to the Margate beach everyone’s been banging on about for the last year and a half but you’ll just as quickly race back to snuggle next to the open fire, use the cute little in-house cinema and shut yourself off from the world. Bit pricier at £89 per night but, come on. Look at it.

Book it.
