Vlogging couple Sam and Nia went viral with their pregnancy announcement on Youtube last week - and now, just days later, they've shared the heartbreaking news that they have suffered a miscarriage - to help other couples experiencing the same thing.

The Youtube stars announced their pregnancy in an unusual but sweet video, in which Sam stole a sample of urine and performed a pregnancy test in secret, and then surpised Nia with the news. The video went viral last Wednesday, racking up millions of views last week, but the couple had since remained quiet on social media.

Then, on Saturday, the childhood sweethearts decided to share the tragic news that they had lost their baby via an emotional video, which aims to tackle the stigma around miscarriage and to help other couples going through the same thing.

"The emptiness and heartache that comes with a miscarriage came as a total shock, and we are coping with this, but wanted to include you," they wrote on their Youtube page. "There is a stigma regarding miscarriage that says we need to be alone in it and keep it private, but what happened is nothing less than losing a baby. The hurt and pain is real."

In the video, Nia speaks out about the pain she experienced:

"We were just so overjoyed, and then it just — BAM. It just hit us like a bomb...The hardest part is just knowing that it's really gone. There's no question."

She added: "I've never experienced with Sam what I went through last night. We really, for the first time in our marriage and our relationship, grieved together."

Sam said that the couple are grieving, but the experience has made them "stronger as a family," and "It's made me appreciate my children more and look at them in a different light." They are still hoping to expand their family, but for now, are relying on their friends and family to get through this difficult time.
