UPDATE: Whitney Houston’s Daughter Bobbi Kristina Is ‘Fighting For Her Life’

Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown is 'fighting for her life' according to her family. The 21-year-old actress - who was found unresponsive in a bath on Saturday morning is said to be responding to treatment.

A statement issued by her family reads: 'Bobbi Kristina is fighting for her life and is surrounded by immediate family.'

The incident happened just days before the three year anniversary of her mother Whitney Houston's death - who passed away in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on February 11 2012.

The Los Angeles County coroner’s office confirmed the ‘I Will Always Love You’ hitmaker passed away as a result of drowning and "effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use". The cause of Bobbi’s incident is currently unknown, but local police are investigating the situation at her home while she recovers in hospital.

Bobbi's father, Bobby Brown, and the rest of her family have continued to ask for privacy at this difficult time. The statement adds: 'As her father already stated, we are asking you to honour our request for privacy during this difficult time.

Doctors caring for Bobbi at North Fulton Hospital have recorded progress in her treatment, with sources close to the family revealing the raven-haired beauty has been able to 'move her eyes' as her oxygen levels have increased significantly.

However, they fear Bobbi could have suffered some neurological damage after spending between two and five minutes facedown under water.

The 21-year-old actress was found by her husband, Nick Gordon, 23, at their home in Roswell, Georgia, accompanied by a man thought to be her former boyfriend, Max Lomas. An ambulance arrived and she was rushed to nearby North Fullerton hospital where she was stabilised by doctors.

Us website TMZ claims that police found drugs at the property after they searched the home following the incident.

It is believed Bobbi and Nick were having some marital troubles and the police have not ruled out a suicide bid.

Despite her mother's drug addictions - Bobbi Kristina has spoken up about her own drug use in the past. She was also reportedly found getting high at her mother's funeral. Bobbi Kristina hit headlines when she revealed she was in relationship with now-husband Nick - because the pair had grown up together 'like brother and sister' after Whitney adopted him when he was young.
