WhatsApp Gold Is Actually A Scam, So Maybe Don't Download It

If you received a text promoting ‘WhatsApp Gold’ recently, you might want to hold off with downloading it. And by hold off we mean never download it, ever. Never in your lifetime. The message, which you can see below goes into hefty detail about WhatsApp Gold’s features (including message deleting feature which sounds like something we would seriously be into after a night out). The extension of the popular app was supposedly only available to celebs and the elite, but now has been ‘leaked’ to the masses.

But it’s all one massive scam. As soon as you hit download your phone will receive malware directly and boy oh boy that is not good. Think of it this way: if you hit download, instead of getting a shiny new WhatsApp that used to only be available to people like Kendall Jenner, your phone will be taken over by malware and held hostage by scammers. So as a word of warning, we highly recommend you do not hit download. You don’t need an A-lister WhatsApp, you probably use it to text your mum and like three friends like us, so stick with what you know.
