Good news! Turns out your endless tweets moaning to TFL about delays and drunken snaps (which are swiftly deleted the morning after) may finally have gained the recognition they deserve.

Twitter has officially announced that anyone can now apply for a verified account. Seriously. All you need is a phone number, email address, bio (preferably not dedicated to your boyfriend), profile picture and website.

And you may be in with a strong chance, as out of the social media giant’s 310 million users, only 0.06% of them (187,000 users) are verified.

Fancy applying? An online form is now available on the site for anyone who wants a blue tick, which is big news if you’re looking to expand the growth of your brand, wish to gain more exposure for your portfolio or simply want to rival the Queen's recent social media debut.

Twitter's Vice President of User Services, Tina Bhatnagar, announced that the company’s new move is in order to ‘help more people find great, high-quality accounts to follow, and for creators and influencers – no matter where they are in the world - to easily connect with a broader audience’.

This decision follows the company's first (and unsuccessful) attempt at allowing anyone to apply to be verified. Ever since the decision on who is worthy of the blue tick has been left to Twitter, who infamously save them for public figures, such as musicians or even the Queen...

So what are you waiting for? Give your Twitter profile the tick of approval here.
