On 20th July Donald Trump became the official Republican Nominee for President of the United States. This means that Trump could legitimately be the 45th President of the USA and it is truly terrifying. Trump will be going up against Hillary Clinton – the Democratic Nominee – in the presidential election on Tuesday 8th November, 2016.
We know, despite what logic tells us, that the support for Trump is there – the numbers speak for themselves. We’ve even heard from young American women who plan to vote for Trump come November.
We also know that – thankfully – there are those who strongly oppose his candidacy, his opinions and everything he stands for. ‘Tramps Against Trump’ are taking a slightly different approach to tackle Trump and encouraging to people to vote against him (i.e. for anyone but Trump), promising those that do an anonymous nude picture as a kind of ‘gold star’ for doing their bit in the struggle against him.
The rules, as stated on their website, are that you must provide a selfie with proof of your vote (like a voter receipt). This policy, they say, is ‘strictly enforced’. They also invite those 18 years old or over to submit a censored or uncensored nude picture to be used in their campaign, if they so wish.
The idea bears some resembles to the Canadian ’Sluts Against Harper’ campaign in 2015 which rallied people to vote against the-then president Stephen Harper. And it worked, because Justin Trudeau got in. According to Motherboard, they had around 20 women working to meet the demand for nudes.
The creator of 'Tramps Against Trump', ‘Jessica Rabbit’ is a sex worker. In an interview with Motherboard she explained the campaign syaing that, ‘Whoever becomes president will have a direct effect on what we can and can’t do with our bodies, and how the law will move forward relating to us. For sex workers, this is a really important election.'
You can find out more about their campaign – as well as some NSFW pictures – on the ‘Tramps Against Trump’ tumblr and Twitter.
