Feeling uninspired when planning your next holiday? Then feast your eyes on Lonely Planet's new bucket list. The publisher have released a book of the 500 best places to visit in the world - and it's given us a serious case of wanderlust.
Ranked "in order of brilliance", the book was compiled from 5,000 highlights from every Lonely Planet guidebook over 40 years. The Temples of Angkor in Cambodia claimed the top spot, and well-known destinations like the Great Barrier Reef, the Great Wall of China and the Grand Canyon made the list too - as well as a few surprising additions.
Interestingly, of the 500 holiday hotspots, 24 come from the UK - including Edinburgh Castle, the British Museum and the Lake District. Which is great if you're planning a staycation this year.
The full list isn't released until the book is out in October - but we have the top 25 destinations here. How many have you ticked off your travel to-do list?
