This a sentence that sounds truly like it could have been spoken by the three witches in Macbeth but: The full snow moon of February 2022 has risen. And, apparently, this lunar event has big repercussions for all of our lives. Spooky.

Full moons have been the topics of horror films, conspiracy theories, religious festivals and many doomsday prophecies. But, despite this apocalyptic reputation, the eerie name for this month’s full ‘snow’ moon on February 16 is just because there’s generally quite a lot of snow this time of year. Very literal.

But how the full moon affects us and what we should do with those big feelings aren’t nearly as simple. So, here are five things you might want to do during this month’s full moon to harness that fiery lunar energy.

Proclaim your love

Astrologers think that this full moon in particular has seriously sexy vibes. It’s fixed to the Leo fire sign, in conjunction with the planet of love (Venus) and the planet of sex (Mars) so all the planets are aligning to get things hotting up. On top of that, full moons act as your emotional compass and encourage intense feelings so now is the perfect time to act on your urges.

'There will be an energy and atmosphere of living from the heart so that you are making heart-based decisions instead of head-based decisions,' holistic healing expert Molly Bean-Harding tells Grazia. 'Get ready to draw in new soulmates and companions.'

Get planning

If you've been putting off doing something or aren't sure what direction you’re heading in, now is the time to get your life in order. ‘Full moons are fabulous for setting your intent, manifesting what you want from every opportunity, and finding love or taking relationships to the next level,’ research by Safer Date has found. So, act now if you want a to give your priorities a revamp.

Talk it out

Although this Leo full moon is fiery, it’s also happening in Capricorn which is ruled by Saturn (the taskmaster planet). This will make you more willing to address any problems or challenges you’re facing in your romantic life and be proactive to achieve what you want. And hopefully the outcome should be positive, too.

Bean-Harding also encourages us to expect the unexpected: 'You know that full moon feeling you get where you just know something is going to happen?' she asks, 'Your inner (and outer) conflict will reach breaking point and new revelations, blessings and gifts may appear to you through unexpected channels.' Sounds good to us.

Take charge

Leos are typically assertive, optimistic and self-assured so while we’re all channeling their energy (hello, Obama is a Leo) now could be the time to take charge and capitalise on your own power. Although this can sometimes get a little dramatic with the free-flying feelings of the full moon, Capricorn pragmatism will stop things getting out of hand.

'As with all full moons, we may be noticing more drama around us, however this full moon is a really good chance for us to tackle and use this energy to give things we have had on the back burner a fiery blast of motivation,' Bean-Harding says. 'It’s time to show the world your light and vision.'

Be creative

If you feel like you’ve been too set in your ways lately, this is the perfect moment to switch things up. The full snow moon squares off the lunar North and South Nodes in Taurus and Scoprio, so everybody should be ready for passion projects and romance.

'Get those playful creative juices flowing, as this luminary event spices up your experimental and artistic side,' says Bean-Harding. 'You may find it very easy to connect with your inner child... This is going to be a lot of fun.'
