There's A Bar Opening Exclusively For Beautiful People And Now Our Faith In Humanity Is Dead

‘Browse beautiful profiles of men and women without sifting through all the riff raff’. This is an ACTUAL QUOTE from the dating website beautifulpeople.com, whose aim is to disregard any measure of human decency and bring together people deemed ‘beautiful’. Externally only, we assume.

The site’s founder is opening the bar so that his site’s users can avoid the hassle of finding that people’s profiles don’t represent them accurately. While the bar is in L.A, the site is open to users in 120 countries, but don’t expect success if you apply – over 11 million people have been rejected since the site’s opening in 2002, and only 14% of British women who apply are accepted. Are the rest of us supposed to like each other for our personalities or something?

The L.A bar serves alcoholic and healthy drinks, along with raw food and lean meat, because I’m assuming you’re thrown out if you’re seen to be enjoying anything with more than 50 calories.

While the bar’s door policy is shocking, it’s really just a more explicit version of the rules many high-end clubs employ. Just last year DSTRKT in London was accused of refusing entry to women deemed ‘too fat’ and ‘too dark’. When I once found myself in a car with a Mayfair club doorwoman (long story), I was told that the aim is to fill the club with beautiful young women (who can enter for free if they’re ‘a ten’ or pay if slightly less attractive) to attract men who are willing to pay extortionate table fees.

I don’t know about you, but I'd rather stay at home.
