In a haunting story of teenage bloodlust that is sure to please Isis, a Danish girl killed her mother in cold blood after watching the beheading videos of Alan Henning and David Haines at the hands of the terrorist group’s so-called ‘Jihadi John’.
Lisa Borch, from Kvissel, rural Denmark, had also started a relationship with a 29-year-old Iraqi man, Bakhatiar Mohammed Abdulla, who she had met at a refugee centre near to her home.
The relationship was a source of many arguments with her painter mother Tine Römer Holtegaard, and her twin sister told the court she had temporarily left the family home previous to the murder. It is believed Borch and Abdulla planned to flee to Syria to fight for Isis together. But it was ‘the endless rowing which cost the mother her life.’
According to police who later searched her computer, Borch had spent ‘the whole evening long’ watching Isis videos, including the beheadings that sadly did the rounds on social media after published online as propaganda by the terrorist group.
Afterwards, she fatally stabbed her mother at least 20 times, using a kitchen knife.
Bild reports that Borch, who lived with her mother, father and sister, then called the police, saying she’d heard her mother scream and saw a ‘white man’ running from the house. When police arrived, Borch was disinterested and only shrugged her shoulders when they informed her that her mother was dead in her bedroom.
Abdulla’s fingerprints were also found in Tine’s bedroom, but because police could not ascertain which of the two stabbed Tine, both have been convicted of the murder. The prosecution said ‘This murder was cold-blooded, ice cold and committed in a bestial manner.’
Borch has been sentenced to nine years’ imprisonment, the first in a young offenders’ institution and the next eight in jail. Abdulla will face 13 years in prison before being deported.
