The Sugar Baby/Daddy University Launches (And Ends) This Week

Don't worry, the end isn't nigh – the course only lasts one evening...

Although you might be working on the assumption that the sort of women who ensnare sugar daddies don’t need much smarts to do so, it turns out that there are some pretty specific skills required to get a rich old man to pay your way (the ability to repress your disgust as a man old enough to be your grandfatherslips his Viagra-boosted member into you, his grey pubes glinting in the light of the morning glow beaming through the windows of an anonymous hotel suite, maybe). And it goes both ways, apparently rich older men need more than dosh to get with a younger woman.

Seriously, though, because the first Sugar Daddy University has been set up and launches this week. Obviously an American thing, set up by ‘professional sugar baby’ Carla Abonia and sugar daddy ‘mentor’ Alan Schneider, the university is there to teach women how to get financial support from an older rich man, and to show men how to find a younger woman.

In a twisted way, it’s kind of refreshing; considering the average professional graduate starting salary over here has fallen to £21,702, maybe becoming a sugar baby is a more worthwhile idea, financially speaking (we're joking. Sort of). The five core subjects studied are: sexuality, understanding, generosity, attraction and reciprocity. The syllabus reads: ‘The course is a prerequisite for understanding the sugar daddy lifestyle, how to navigate successfully in it, and how to avoid the pitfalls of approaching the lifestyle incorrectly, and learning the tools to initiate and prosper in this relevant and popular, but often misunderstood lifestyle.’

‘It’s not just about sex – we help them discover a spark, a real connection and many couples get married,’ explained Schneider who runs website SugarDaddyForMe.com, reports the New York Daily News. If you’re stressing about how this flimsy idea could possibly be a real university course, then relax safe in the knowledge that it’s just an amped up way of hooking people up, as it’s a one-off event happening at a plush hotel in New York on Wednesday (18 June).

On the plus side, it’s free, which is more than can be said for most university courses. And no, we have no idea what the UCAS code for this one is...
