For those of you that have trouble getting motivated, allow us to introduce you to Take A Five, the website that gently coaxes you into being a productive human being.

If you've got a long history with anti-procrastination tools, you'll know they work on the basis of being mean. They either block social media websites from your computer entirely or, if you invest in the really hardcore ones, make you give money to charity if you want to use Facebook!

Enter Take a Five then. Take A Five isn't mean. Take A Five believes in you. And people are obsessed with it.

Created a few months ago, Take A Five essentially allows you to take a timed break before self-destructing the tab you're on. So you simply go to the Take A Five website, select how long you want to break for; one, five, ten or a custom amount of minutes, and navigate to your chosen break website.

Once your time is up, the page 'self-destructs' which sadly is less HUGE SCREEN EXPLOSION and more a pop-up tab with a fun gif on telling you it's time to get back to work. Also though, they give you a motivational quote of the day which today reads; 'It is astonishing how long it takes to finish something you are not working on.'

Obviously if you want to bypass Take A Five you can just open another tab or window and keep on being useless but what we like about Take A Five is the implied level of trust it puts in you. Like, it knows you're a lazy piece of shit, but it's going to let you make your own mistakes until you realise what you've done.

Try it out yourself here.
