If you're a Starbucks aficionado, you'll know that no drink has quite as much of a cult following as the Pumpkin Spice latte. Every Autumn, as the frappucino season ends, fans wait patiently for the sugary sweet caffeine treat to be added to the menu. Yes, it's chock full of sugar and tastes nothing like a pumpkin, but for some people it's as Autumnal as leaves falling and shopping for a winter coat.

But the PSL (as it's known by fans) is about to be changed - and probably for the better. Real pumpkin - yes actual pumpkin, in the form of puree, is about to be added to the coffee drink - and caramel colouring will be removed. The revamped drink will include espresso, milk, pumpkin spice flavored sauce, whipped cream, vanilla syrup and pumpkin spice topping, according to Starbucks.

“We have been trying to keep a lid on some big news for the beloved Pumpkin Spice Latte, but with recipes and ingredients starting to ship to our stores, the buzz is building. What’s the big deal? After hearing from customers and partners about ingredients, we took another look at this beverage…”, the coffee chain announced on Monday.

You're probably thinking - "why is everyone getting so word up over a latte"? But people have STRONG FEELINGS about their fave autumnal treat being changed. We'll have to stay tuned to find out whether the new version tastes better than the old.
