You know when you’re looking at a first aid demonstration of CPR techniques and you think to yourself, this thing just is nowhere near sexy enough? Don’t you just hate that? Well, the police in Spain were sick of that common conundrum, so they decided that half-naked lingerie models were just the ticket for teaching the public about first aid. Genius.

Officers in the city of Jaca showed footage from two advertising campaigns from Fortnight Lingerie to members of the public who attended a seminar wanting to learn more about CPR and first aid. The footage shows half-naked lingerie models pretending to perform CPR and the Heimlich manoeuvre on each other whilst they pose provocatively and the camera zooms in on their boobs. Sounds awfully informative.

The police have been forced to apologise for showing the clips after several of the seminar’s attendees made formal complaints, calling the videos ‘sexist’ and demanding apologies from the seminar’s organisers and the police force as a whole.

A spokesperson from Zaragoza’s police headquarters told El Heraldo newspaper that they were very sorry for airing the ‘inappropriate videos’ but insisted that the footage was meant to be ‘ironic.' They maintain that the attendees were told they would be shown a video of women in their underwear before the seminar – they just didn’t make it clear enough that the footage would be provocative.

Worst. Apology. Ever?
