Rose Capri Sun

Every now and then someone comes up with an idea that makes everyone else think, where on earth has this been all my life. With a hybrid idea that could rival the cronut, some very savvy people have crossed a millennial favourite with our childhood throwback and come up with Electric Rosé – which is basically Rosé, but in a Capri-Sun style pouch.

The pouches are sold in packs of six, with each carton containing 12.5% alcohol rosé. The company website says, 'Electric Rosé is striking down conventional consumption methods by creating the first ever, single-serve pouch – with a straw.' It will definitely come in handy on the beach and at festivals, which often have strict embargos on glass, and it definitely feels a bit edgier than decanting your wine into an old Evian bottle.

Electric Rosé are tapping into a huge and ever-expanding market, with the Rosé industry having enjoyed a huge boost in recent years. Being pink (and therefore harder to wash-out with an Instagram filter), Rosé has become a social-media summer staple. From humble origins as a way to utilize leftover grapes, it is now the subject of countless Instagram posts, hashtags and lifestyle blogs. And while last summer we were gifted Frosé and the rosé infused gummy bear (which reportedly had a 12,000-person waiting list), this year it’s clearly the turn of the pouch.

The catch – because nothing in life is perfect – is that right now it’s only available in six U.S states (Connecticut, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Maine, Georgia and Tennessee, if you’re asking). But with a fool-proof formula of practicality plus instagramability, you can be sure it won’t be long before it finds us here in the U.K. The company also told Digital Spy that it's "positioned for rapid expansion" in Europe very soon.
