The latest Snapchat update is set to drastically change the way the app works - a new option is being added that will allow users to keep snaps for longer, instead of them disappearing after a few seconds.
The new timeless option, dubbed 'infinity', works by removing the time limit of a sent snap. As a result, the recipient is able to view it for as long as they want. However, the snap will still disappear once the user has decided to finish watching it and ends viewing it. Snaps added to 'My Story' will still be deleted after 24 hours.
The update, which is available now, also adds the option of infinite looping videos, where videos will continue to play on repeat until the recipient has finished watching them.
Snapchat said in a blog post: "We've all felt the frustration of not being able to fully enjoy a Snap – even after replaying it – and we wanted to give you the option of allowing the recipient to enjoy your Snap as long as they'd like."
The final new element in the update is probably the most exciting. Snapchat are releasing a nifty Magic Eraser tool (which you’ll find this under the Scissor tool). This will allow users to "photoshop" elements out of their pictures and remove objects and imperfections before sharing their photos. We know, so game-changing.
