Snapchat Have Introduced Memories. Here's How To Use It Like A Pro

In a recent blog post, Snapchat revealed the news that they would now be introducing ‘Memories,’ to the app as ‘A new way to save Snaps and Stories on Snapchat. It’s a personal collection of your favourite moments that lives below the camera screen.’ So instead of having to save anything we post, or see on snapchat into our camera roll, you can now save them in one neat app – our icCoud is grateful.

Call it a living memory roll where your snaps can be organised all together under one roof. It’s in a way showcasing how popular the app has become, we’re all so obsessed and hungry for Snapchat that in creating a way for us to literally never, ever leave we’ll all be succumbed to using it more on a daily basis to flick through photos and videos. Not that I’m complaining, I’m a self-confessed Snapchat addict. So wave goodbye to only seeing a story for 24-hours, you can save that badboy and watch it all day, or all night if you want. But please don’t, that would be creepy. Here’s the lowdown on how to use the new update

How to get Memories

First things first you need to update your Snapchat. The update will be rolled out to users over the next month, and I’m yet to get it – but update the app anyway so you can get it.

What to do when you do get Memories

Create a snapchat like normal, and click on the ‘save’ button like you normally would to save it to your camera roll. Instead it saves to your ‘memories’ roll.

How to create a story from your Memories

You can also create #throwback snaps with all the ones saved in your memories section. To do this press and hold down on the individual snap, then click ‘my snap’ at the top of the screen. Then click ‘create story from this snap,’ you can add as many as you want here, so go mad. Go wild. You can add extra filters too, fuuuun. If the snap you’re re-using is over 24 hours old, it will have a frame around it with the timestamp.

What if you’re not into Memories?

You have two options here, one if to go onto your Snapchat settings and hit ‘save to camera roll only,’ which is pretty self-explanatory. Or, my friends, you can make your memories hidden to prying eyes. There’s a secret section called ‘For My Eyes Only,’ simply press and hold on the snap and tap ‘my snap,’ then ‘Move To My Eyes Only’ then enter your passcode. It basically creates a tab that contains these secret Snaps for your eyes only. Handy.
