Why Are There Snapchat Emojis In Your Contacts List?
Wondering why your BFF has a creepy little man with a creepy little grin next to her name? And why this sometimes changes to a bright red heart? Here's what that all means:
The Complete List Of Snapchat Emojis And Their Meanings
1. Snapchat Yellow Heart Emoji
This is your Snapchat BFF; the friend that you Snapchat back and forth with the most.
2. Snapchat Red Heart Emoji
When you’ve had the yellow heart for two weeks, it turns red, further cementing your Snapchat BFF-dom.
3. Snapchat Pink Heart Emoji
This means you have been Snapchat BFFs for two months. That’s true friendship right there.
4. Snapchat Face with Sunnies
Emoji – You and this friend both share a BF.
5. Snapchat Grimmace Emoji
You and this friend share the same BFF. Awks.
6. Snapchat Smirky Emoji
This friend sends you a lot of Snaps but you don’t send a lot to them. They have you as a BF, but you don’t have them as a BF, geddit? Harsh.
7. Snapchat Smiley Emoji
This person is a plain BF. You send a lot of Snaps to this friend, but they are not your BFF.
8. Snapchat Fire Emoji
You have Snapchatted back and forth with this person consecutively for the amount of days stated next to the fire Emoji. Apparently, the correct term is “Snapstreak”. Whatevs.
9. Snapchat 100 Emoji
You have Snapchatted back and forth with this friend for 100 days straight. Don’t you have anything else to do?
10. Snapchat Gold Star Emoji
Someone has replayed your snap in the past 24 hours.
11. Snapchat Baby Emoji
You just became friends with this person.
Snapchat Icons Next To Snaps: What Do They Mean?
The array of coloured triangle, square and circle icons next to Snaps confuse us even worse than the unnecessary friend Emojis above, but at least these provide some sort of information you may want to know about the status of your Snaps.
Triangles
Triangles denote Snaps that you have sent.
Double Triangle
The double triangle denotes Snaps which have been screenshotted by your Snapchat friend - always useful...
Square
The square depicts Snapchats you have received.
Replay Circle
The circle arrow thingy shows when a Snap you have sent has been replayed (you are allowed to replay one Snap per day).
Snapchat** Emojis: Trophy Case**
For those of you who have too much time on your hands, Snapchat have introduced a Trophy case with an even more confusing array of Emojis for us. These will reward us when we do Snaptastic things, such as take 10 consecutive front facing photographs with the flash on.

Sent a Snap without a sound.

You have 1000 Snaps using the front-facing camera.
Snapchat Trophy #9: Ghost
Your Snapchat score hit 500,000
Snapchat Trophy #10: Rainbow
You have sent 10 Snaps using 5 or more pen colors.
Snapchat Trophy #11: Lollipop
You have sent 10 Snaps using 5 or more pen colors.
Snapchat Trophy #12: Artist Palette
You have sent 50 Snaps using 5 or more pen colors.
Snapchat Trophy #13: Gold Star
Your Snapchat score hit 100.
Snapchat Trophy #14: Sparkles or Three Stars
Your Snapchat score hit 1,000.
Snapchat Trophy #15: Shooting Star
Your Snapchat score hit 10,000.
Snapchat Trophy #16: Red and Yellow/Fireworks
It means that have a Snapchat score of 50,000 but less than 100,000.
Snapchat Trophy #17: Rocket Ship
Rocket is a milestone achievement, which means that you have 100,000 Snapchat scores.

You have sent 500 video Snaps.
Snapchat Trophy #22: Egg in Frying Pan
You sent Snap between 4:00 AM and 5:00 AM
**Snapchat Trophy #23: **ABCD
You have sent 100 Snaps with enlarged text.
Snapchat Trophy #24: Microscope
You have sent 10 video Snaps that have zoomed in.
Snapchat Trophy #25: Magnifying Glass
You have sent 10 Snaps which zoomed all the way in.
Snapchat Trophy #26: Flashlight/Torchlight
You have sent 10 Snaps using the front facing flash.
Snapchat Trophy #27: Loop One /Rewind
Sent front-facing to rear-facing video snap.
Snapchat Trophy #28: Loop
Flipping the camera 5 times in one video Snap. Snapchat Trophy #29: Flip /Rotate - This means that you have flipped camera 10 in one Snapchat video.
