It may be being celebrated as the ‘spoiler solution’ for TV shows, and that’s amazing or whatever, but we like that new Chrome extension Silencer allows you to basically mute annoying people on your feed, too.
It’s infuriating when you find out so-and-so died last night on your favorite drama and you’ve yet to watch the episode, but other far more irritating things i.e. people can also be silenced on your feed, which will make your online existence so much more chill!
How about The Complainer for example? She’s that friend who tells her entire Twitter audience every time she has a bad stomach or a migraine. Why would you do that? Consider yourself Silenced!
And The Friend Who Never Stops With The Dog Updates. This is the worst. We literally do not care how your dog reacts to snow/dogfood/its new toy. We might be a little more patient if you told us now and again, but the constant dog updates make us want to cut you out. Now we can just Silence you! And you will never know!
All you do is install the extension, type in any keywords that you don’t want to see mentioned (such as the name of your friends dog) and you’ll never see anything pertaining to the pooch ever again.
You can also get ‘Mute Packs’ for TV shows that people love to talk about so the plotlines are not spoiled for you. Silencer’s only been developed for Twitter and Facebook so far, but no one really spoils stuff on Instagram anyway, so it’s all good.
