Seven Truths About My Sex Life: The Woman Who Lost Her Virginity To Her Riding Instructor

Sex is a thorny issue. From school, where misinformation thrives, to adulthood where the pressure to have a vibrant and yet responsible sex life can sometimes feel overwhelming.

In order to try and create an honest discussion about real sex – and to indulge our desire to be massively nosy about other people's sex lives – we're bringing you Seven Truths, a new series different women tell us seven truths about their sex lives. Names and some identifying details have been changed.

Margot is 32. She has been married for three years and has one child, a baby daughter.

The first time I had sex was with my riding teacher. He was 20 years older than me and my parents paid him for the lesson during which it happened.

I used to love sex, but haven't had it since the day I found out that I was pregnant with my daughter. She's 18 months old now. Our marriage is suffering for it but I can't make myself care.

I masturbate a lot, but I don't think that I want to have sex with anyone, including my husband. Something about pregnancy just stripped away my desire to have sex with anyone.

To make myself feel less guilty about not having sex with my husband, I tell myself that he's probably paying for it elsewhere.

I once gave my close friend's boyfriend a handjob when we'd both taken a load of MDMA. We both pretend that it didn't happen. We're going to the Lake District with them and all of our kids next year.

I fantasise about going to a high-class swinging party and having sex with dozens of faceless people. If I think about them as having names or identities I can't come.

Sometimes when I was pregnant I would put on sex shows on sites like Chatroulette. It made me feel good that strangers wanted to watch me.
