Seven girls aged 13 - 15 reportedly got pregnant on an all-girls school trip to Sarajevo, Boznia and Herzegovina - and angry parents are demanding answers from the school, based in Banja Luka. The seven pregnant girls were all found to have conceived during a time period that matched the trip, although it hasn't been released exactly what could have happened to cause this. Apart from sex, obviously.
On the trip, 28 girls were taken around historic sites, museums and places of interest - but obviously a whole lot more went on, and the lack of supervision on the part of the teachers hasn't been explained as of yet. Nenad Babici, the national coordinator for reproductive health told Inserbia.info that it's all about a lack of education: 'That is the trend of today. But we cannot continue to allow our children to be educated about sex on the street and not in school,' he said, adding that early sexual relations can lead to infertility, miscarriages and various other diseases.
Senad Mehmedbasic, a gynaecologist in Sarajevo said: 'It is obvious that children do not have enough knowledge of health education, so they engage in such activities, not knowing the consequences. We have to be more direct in the educational system, it must not be allowed that street teaches children about intimate matters, and that they are later slapped by life.'
