Secret Cinema have announced that their next production will be Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge!
Famed for their immersive re-creations of films like Dirty Dancing, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Back To The Future, Secret Cinema’s next event promises to usher guests into the all-singing, all-dancing world of Luhrmann’s lavish musical, bringing the spirit of fin-de-siècle Paris to life.
The 2003 film stars Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman as a penniless writer and a beautiful courtesan who embark on a doomed love story against the backdrop of the infamous Montmarte nightspot, the Moulin Rouge. Cue drama, diamonds and a post-modern mash-up of a soundtrack that will never leave your head.

The ‘spectacular spectacular’ will open on Valentine’s Day next year at an undisclosed London location, with screenings running until 30th April.
Tickets for the immersive cinema experience will go on sale at 1pm on Thursday 8th December at www.secretcinema.org. They’ll be divided into three price tiers: Creatures of the Underworld can pay between £49 and £69 for limited seating, standard tickets for Children of the Revolution will cost between £59 and £79, and Aristocrats can splash out up to £150 for a VIP experience.
What better excuse to revisit one of our favourite film soundtracks of all time? Although maybe we’ll fast-forward the finale version of ‘Come What May’ - it’s far too traumatic once you know what happens next…
