Science Is Working On A Pill That Could Make Us Live Ten Years Longer

It's already been tested on fruit flies... so that means it's definitely going to happen, right?

A study has discovered that switching off the protein molecules called GKS-3 could make humans live up to decade longer.

The experiment that has only been tested on fruit flies thus far has found that the GSK-3 protein extended their lives by 16%.

Dr Jorge Ivan Castillo-Quan at Harvard University led the study, believing that this knowledge may be important in helping those with age-related diseases. Stating 'We're excited about GSK-3. It could mean that all sorts of diseases related to ageing could be prevented' adding that 'I think that's an even more exciting perspective than life extension'.

Dr Jorge explained that 'We don't necessarily want to live to 110 or 120 but we want to live healtheier for longer'. This all sounds promising, and although science talk is similar to someone speaking in klingon to me, anything that could help us be healthier or live longer is exciting.

Although it may not be available for a number of decades, the fact it could increase our lives for up to ten years or help with illnesses such as Alzheimers is pretty exciting.
