Some flatmates are bad (never cleaning, having loud sex, leaving passive aggressive notes), some flatmates are good (they let you eat their leftovers) and some are superheroes (that save your life). And sometimes - just sometimes - those heros happen to be dogs.

In today's AWWWWW DOG news, three West London flatmates could have died in a fire that ravaged their townhouse if it wasn't for their incredible furry fourth housemate - a four year-old terrier-cross called Missy Moo (best name ever).

'I cannot be certain we would be here today if it wasn’t for Moo. My girlfriend woke up and realised there was a problem because Moo was barking and smoke was coming into the room,' one of the tenants, Rob Jameson told The Evening Standard. 'If Moo wasn’t there, it could have spread into the other flats and the whole building may have gone up in flames. She is absolutely a hero.'

In the middle of the night, all the residents in the building had to be evacuated after Moo started barking at the smoke that had begun to engulf the rooms. One woman even had to be rescued from the roof, the blaze became so bad. Unsurprisingly, one of the guys who shares a flat with Moo referred to her as 'the best flatmate I've ever had', and we can confirm that, after the flatmate horror stories we've come across, she's probably one of the best flatmates ever.

Third flatmate Anastazja (29) works at an upmarket steak house, and reported that Moo has been well rewarded with loads of leftover fillets and T-bones. If there ever was stronger evidence for buying a dog, then we haven't heard it. They're great flatmates, save lives, and are happy to be rewarded with leftovers.
