A man proudly talks about the small size of his penis in his new documentary, Unhung Hero, and you can watch it today, thanks to it being available on iTunes. Cute, right? Patrick Moote always had what a urologist has called a ‘low normal’ penis, but the problem really came to a head (sorry) after he proposed to his girlfriend at a UCLA basketball game in 2012.
As the ‘mistletoe cam’ went around the stadium, pausing on couples until they gave each other a peck on the check, he got out a ring, and went down on one knee to propose to his girlfriend.
As you can see, she fled the stadium in tears. The video went viral. Why couldn’t she marry him? According to Moote, she later explained it’s because of the size of his penis. (Side note: It does beg the question why she was with him in the first place, or even with him long enough for him to think a proposal would be mutually desired)
OK, the video does look a bit staged. But that doesn’t really matter, because the documentary, which goes into discovering the cultural reasons behind our obsession with penis size, and what defines a small dick, is very interesting. Travelling the world, Moote looks for pills, pumps and implants – and even drinks turtle-testicle liqueur.
Though it’s sold as a bit of a lol, he was exploring a very present modern male anxiety. He says, ‘From the beginning, I knew this was something a lot of guys felt. By going out and disarming the topic with information, I thought that it would have a positive effect.’
And there’s another reason why he made the documentary – so that people can’t mock him for his small member any more. ‘I've already made a movie about my penis so you can't joke any more. It's bulletproof,' he explains.
What has he learned? That his member isn't that small anyway, and that he loves it regardless of its size, saying: 'I wanted to prove that not only does size not matter, but also that I don’t have a particularly small penis.'
He told *The New York Post, *'I don’t feel like I have a really small penis, I just know it’s not a particularly impressive or special penis. But it’s my penis and I love it.' And who can argue with that?
