It's not exactly heartening to hear of another set of young people so upset with themselves/the world, they want to shoot everyone in their school, but there is a bright side to the latest high-school massacre story. Because, well, the whole thing never happened. School administrators at South Pasadena High School, California, had got enough information on the two conspirators to tip off police, who then did their own investigations and arrested the teenagers.
The police had, pretty rightfully, got involved because they found out the pair were plotting to kill three staff members and as many other students as possible, according to* The Mirror*.
'Enough evidence was discovered and, based on that evidence, the two students were arrested,' a statement by the South Pasadena Police Department read.
One of the students accepted arrest when the police came to their house with a warrant, but the other 'resisted arrest and officers had to force entry into his residence. He was captured in the home as he tried to run away from the arresting officers.'
Considering the devastation that campus shootings can cause, and all the arguments from gun enthusiasts in Americathat 'the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun' it's pretty good to see that simple investigations are doing their bit to prevent horrific attacks in schools.
