Reporter Teresa Mannion Is Our New Storm Hero

Irish reporter Teresa Mannion has gone viral after her epic and heroic broadcast from Storm Desmond struck a chord with viewers over the weekend.

Reporting for RTE News, Mannion was seen struggling to speak and totally windswept as she warned viewers of the danger of the devastating storm that has swept through Ireland, Scotland and Northern England this weekend.

In just a flimsy mac, and completely drenched, Teresa quickly became our heroine a few seconds into watching the dramatic news report. Shouting at the camera, and struggling to stand, she says, ‘I cannot repeat the advice often enough from the gardai. “Don’t make unnecessary journeys, don’t take risks on treacherous roads. And don’t swim in the sea.”’ Because, yes, people were swimming in the sea during a dangerous storm.
