Here Are Some Of Our Fave Obama Memories. Must Not Cry.

Whilst Obama’s official title was President of the United states, he was more like a funny father figure to all. We loved his moving speeches, impromptu singing and (of course) embarrassing ‘dad jokes’. That’s why today is so hard. Swearing in a new President means saying goodbye to Obama – or, as I like to call him, O-bae-ma.

It’s not just me who is feeling nostalgic about arguably the best President of all time. Obama fans have taken to Reddit to share their favourite memories about him. It’s kind-of like a wake, but it’s online and there is no alcohol involved. Although that doesn’t mean we won’t be drowning our sorrows at the pub later.

The thread is called ‘Today is President Obama’s Last Full Day In Office, What Will You Remember About Him The Most?’ It was started yesterday by MikeyMonsta and already has over 8000 comments.

Stop whatever you’re doing because we are taking a little trip down memory lane. It’s what Obama would have wanted sob

1. When He Said 'Thanks Obama'

'When he couldn't put the cookie in the glass of milk and said "Thanks, Obama"'

This was like when Taylor Swift wrote Blank Space as the ultimate pisstake of her haters. But it was better. It was so much better.

2. When He Sang Amazing Grace

'That one time he sang Amazing Grace during the funeral of the South Carolina statesman who was murdered in the Charleston church shooting.'

3. When He Serenaded Us With Al Green

'Another great moment of unexpected singing was when he broke into an Al Green song mid-speech'

Again, he hit us right in the feelings with his voice of an angel.

4. When He Killed That Fly

'That time he killed a fly with his bare hands during a TV interview. I have a friend who is an extremely staunch conservative, but he claims this moment made him respect Obama'

OK, so the phrase ‘wouldn’t harm a fly’ can't exactly apply to Obama. But we still love him.

5. When He Spoke Like A Radio Presenter. All The Time.

'All politics aside, no matter what you believe, he is a great orator. Listening to him speak is almost soothing'

6. When He Set Up Obamacare

'Although she's gone now, Obamacare let my mother see a doctor regularly and live with dignity'
