The crazy case in Virginia in the US in which police wanted a boy to have a medically induced erection and photograph it as part of a child sex abuse case won’t be getting any crazier after all.

The cops wanted the pictures of the 17-year-old boy so they could prosecute him for child abuse, after he allegedly sexted his 15-year-old girlfriend dick pics, which is illegal in the state.

The 17-year-old from Manassas City, Virginia, was being charged for manufacturing child sex abuse and possession of child sex abuse. A guilty verdict would see him do prison time, plus he would be on the sex offenders list for life.

Now though, the search warrant – which would allow the police to take the teen to hospital, chemically induce an erection and photograph him – will be allowed to expire, says Manassas Police Lieutenant Brian Larkin.

The teen is currently staying in another town, sent there by his aunt who is his legal guardian. She got him out of the house in case cops showed up with the warrant, she said. She didn't want him to go through that, she said, as it would be ‘traumatising’.

In a statement released to the press, the police department said that new charges ‘of manufacturing and distributing child pornography have been brought forward and a court date is pending’.

The statement also said it is ‘not the policy of the Manassas City Police or the Commonwealth Attorney's Office to authorize invasive search procedures of suspects in cases of this nature and no such procedures have been conducted in this case’.

The teen’s aunt told MyFoxDC that she thinks they would still be pursuing the photographs were it not for the outrage that erupted after the case became public.
