According to Pinterest, people are really into this new go-to venue layout for their weddings, with ‘circular seating plan’ searches going up 80% this year. But before we get ahead of ourselves, I’m going to stop you right there and call bullshit.
The circular seating plan, or the maze as I like to call it, has baffled us at Debrief HQ. The idea is that the bride rocks up at the end of the maze and then rocks her way round the circle to the middle to then get married right in the middle so every single person sat down can see her from every single angle - but surely that’s a recipe for disaster.
Like this seating plan, which looks like it has been created in the middle of Arizona. The bride might get motion sickness walking around that spiral.

Or this one on a beach. What if she trips in the sand and it creates dominoes effect of guests falling? WHAT IF.
This one is slightly better but the guests are going to have one hell of a time maneuvering their way around those chairs to find the right seat. Good luck, guys.

It feels very intimate and terrifying to have everyone staring at you throughout the walk. OK, so it is your wedding day and chances are you look banging and want everyone to see you from every single angle, but what if you want to hide a spot that cropped up from stress the night before? Tough luck, you can’t, cause your circular ceremony seating plan won’t allow that. We’ll opt for the standard seating plan when the day rolls out, thanks very much.
