Pikes hotel ibiza

When it comes to Ibizan party vibes, look no further than Pikes Hotel, the quirky boutique finca hotel set in the hills above San Antonio. Because it couldn’t be further from the clubbing down below.

Amid the wonderland of gardens dotted with kitsch objets d’art and now actual art courtesy of celebrity photographer Diana Gomez, you’ll find some of the island’s most glamorous scenesters wafting by the pool in platforms and kaftans as if they’ve just dropped out of a Rolling Stones video; Kate Moss and Jade Jagger were spotted partying at Pikes after Primal Scream last week. And the pool itself is iconic: the Club Tropicana video was shot here with George Michael floating around on a very on-trend inflatable. The night we were there for the launch of Diana’s exhibition - as in the song - ‘drinks are free.’ The party was glorious.

Having been lovingly restored since its takeover by Ibiza Rocks, original founder Tony Pike still lives on the premises and can be seen as the night unfurls, greeting guests like an Ibizan Hugh Hefner (with less nudity). And when it gets too exciting – there’s even bathtub karaoke to get involved with.

But it’s not all rock’n’roll drinks overlooking the island. Sampling the Rip and Dip sharing dinner, we dined like kings on mouth-wateringly rich pork secreto, a 31-day aged fillet of beef and nine-hour slow roasted octopus, courtesy of former Gordon Ramsay chef Lee Milne.

And for the month of September, there’s a series of food pop-ups in the hotel every Thursday night in Room 39. On the 7th, there’s Music Supper Club fusing food from Jamaica, the West Indies, India and Pakistan. Then on the 21st, London’s favourite, Vietvan, is bringing its authentic Vietnamese produce to the restaurant. Pikes is the place to be for heady nights on the white isle.

A one-night stay at Pikes starts from £180 per room per night. Diana Gomez’s Free Women is on display until the end of September. Visit pikesibiza.com for more information.
