If you’re excited about the forthcoming iPhone 7, you’re probably an extrovert. If the guy you like has an Android, he’s more likely to be honest. Sound crazy? Bear with me...
That’s according to a study by scientists at the University of Lincoln’s School of Psychology, which says that your choice of phone can tell reveal a lot about your personality. Their two part study asked volunteers to complete a questionnaire about the stereotypes of phone users, and then compared them to the actual personality traits.
The research showed that if you use an Android, you’re more likely to be honest and humble, while iPhone users were more extroverted but less kind. I’ve never looked at my iPhone with such distrust.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Heather Shaw, one of the researchers, suggested that more research should be done into the link between our technological choices and personalities.
She said: ‘Imagine if we further researched how personality traits relate to the applications people download. Many of us don’t like it when other people use our phones because it can reveal so much about us.’
It might be time to delete Tinder after all…
