The Pokémon Go madness continues, and this time it’s not so fricking funny. Quite the opposite, as some bright spark has managed to combine our innocent childhood animated friend Pikachu with ecstacy pills. Our little friend now can carry a dangerous amount of MDMA and 2-CB, a psychedelic chemical that creates similar visual hallucinations of LSD.
The pills are being made in Dutch factories and traded over the ‘dark web’- somewhere no Pokémon should go. You can get hold of these pills for as little as five pounds each, and what’s scarier is that these class A drugs are purposely being shaped in Pokémon to appeal to younger demographics.
In fact, The Mirrorreported that two teenage girls died this year after taking ecstasy, and a 13-year-old boy and three girls aged 12 are seriously ill after taking the pills in the last month. You know something's bad when even the dealer warns people to 'be careful' when taking it, as Dutch sellers have.
These high dosed pills are packed with 210mg of ecstasy- which is dangerously above the recommended safe dose- and they’re popping too: a gang source in Manchester revealed to The Mirror that, 'Chances of them being intercepted are pretty slim. Sell them for a fiver a go and you make a wedge. There’s massive demand. Pills are back in a big way.' Apparently a dealer can get hold of 50 of these tablets for just £49.71, and target the new Pokémon Go obsessed demographic, aka: everyone.
It’s found that a staggering 17,635 ecstasy batches are in stock on the mysterious dark web, which also sells guns, hitmen services and fake documents- a place anyone can access if they really wanted too, at their own risk.
