Betsy McCaughey, Republican former New York Lieutenant Governor and current advisor to Trump, has compared Beyonce lyrics to Trump’s recently leaked sexist remarks and Queen Bey's fans are not happy.
McCaughey, quoting Beyonce’s hit song Formation, called Hilary Clinton a hypocrite for criticising Trump’s gross comments because Clinton ‘idolizes and would like to imitate’ Beyonce.
‘Hilary Clinton expresses that finds the language on that bus horrific,’ said McCaughey last night on CNN. ‘But in fact she likes language like this: ‘I came to slay bitch, when he fuck me good, I take his ass to Red Lobster’.’
We don't quite understand how Beyonce's empowering song lyrics equate to Trump's remarks that he can grab women 'by the pussy', and Beyonce's fesity fan base, the BeyHive, were quick to point this out.
Voters have not taken lightly to Trump bragging about sexually assaulting women with one teenager turning up to his rally in Pennsylvania wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the words 'Grab My Pussy, I Dare You'. Anna Lehane, 18, told the Huffington Post that she made the shirt 'as a protest' to people in power 'making such disrespectful, degrading and misogynistic comments and still being taken seriously'.
