Can you believe it's been 11 years since The Notebook hit screens? Yes - that means your crush on Ryan Gosling has been going strong for over a decade. And despite the fact that it's still most of our go-to movie when a rainy day (ok, any day) strikes, it's about to get a reboot.* Entertainment Weekly* reports that The CW is developing the Nicholas Sparks novel into a series.
The TV network says: “This series will follow the romantic journey of the two beloved central characters Noah and Allie, at the outset of their blossoming relationship as they build their lives and their future together against the backdrop of the racial politics, economic inequities, and social mores of post-World War II of the late 1940s in North Carolina.”
Unlike the movie, the drama series would omit the present day story of the elderly versions of Noah and Allie. “I don’t believe we’re going to see the older couple—what they become,” The CW president Mark Pedowitz told reporters at the Television Critics Association’s press tour in Beverly Hills. But things change [in development]."
The project would be made in collaboration with Nicholas Sparks, who'll executive produce, while Todd Graff is the writer and producer.
As for the casting director - they've got a tall task on their hands. The new Noah is going to have to live up to this...
