*The X Factor *is set for a shake-up this season, with Louis Walsh axed from the show after 11 years and Mel B's return currently up in the air. Now, following numerous rumours, Louis himself seems to have confirmed that Nick Grimshaw is his replacement on the panel. He told The Daily Star Online "I think there is a great great chance Grimmy will get my job."
Though the X Factor former mentor was quick to add that Grimmy's got big shoes to fill: "I don't think he realises the hard work he has to put in though. It's going to be hard work for him. You don't just show up."
What with all those early mornings for Radio 1 we reckon Nick's up to the job. He just needs to make sure he's got a few catch phrases down to follow Louis's 11-year-long legacy. We'll be waiting for him to fire out a: "You look like a little [insert name of dated pop star/TV presenter]".
Louis also seemed to confirm that Cheryl Fernandez-Versini had signed her contract for another season, saying "Simon and Cheryl are on the panel."
Aside from Nick's great banter, what has us most excited about this news is the chance of one of his A-list pals joining him at judges' houses. Could Kate Moss help him pick out his finalists? She has got plenty of pop star mates and a rocker husband, after all. Perhaps Harry Styles will make a comeback to the show that launched him, or will Grimmy pick Alexa Chung seeing as she was such a hit on Bake Off? This series of The X Factor just got a whole lot more exciting.
