One of the most depressing things about being single is the fact that suddenly you have to start actually ‘planning’ activities, as opposed to assuming that you just have someone who will blindly follow you around when you suggest things like ‘going to a sample sale to watch me try on clothes lol’ on a Saturday. You suddENLY have to start doing things like calling people up in advance to plan having someone to go to lunch with, which means that by Thursday lunchtime your entire weekend is already plotted out for you, in a series of pre-arranged drinks, meals and slightly pissed shopping trips.
The fact that being single at the weekends usually equates to a lot of pre-planned dates with friends could be part of the reason why a new study has suggested that people in relationships get busy with their partners at the weekends while single women are more sexually active Monday through Thursday.
According to the findings published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine, (lol, great use of ‘sexual medicine’ resources) 1,180 women between the ages of 18 and 40 reported their daily sexual activity to researchers, in order to determine which days they were most likely to have sex on, using diary cards. The cards also documented who initiated sex, their desire, arousal and satisfaction. Of those who participated, 925 were in a heterosexual relationship and one in five were single. The results found that women in relationships were more likely to have sex with their partners at the weekends, while single women are more sexually active during the week.
Basically, if suggests that if you're single, the mid-week dead space between finishing work and sleep are dedicated to having sex, because the weekends are already occupied with friend bonding time. Sorry babes!
