A New Tent Finding App Is Here To Make Festival Season So Much Easier

Buying the cheapest tent from Home Bargains may seem like a great idea pre-festival, but when it's 3 o’clock in the morning and you’re drunkenly stumbling around a field of identical tents trying to find your own – suddenly not such a good idea.

We’ve all tried various methods to make the late-night tent identification task slightly easier: from pitching your tent near someone who was smart enough to bring one easily distinguishable, to sticking all manner of makeshift flag-things on the side of your tent in a feeble bid to make it stand out amongst the crowd.

But now, as with everything else, there’s an app for that! The Tent Finder app is here to make your festival life a whole lot easier – iPhone battery permitting of course.

No longer will you have to play Russian roulette, tent edition, and hopelessly unzip tents and praying that you’ve found your own and not one that is already, erm, occupied. Tent Finder lets you mark where you’ve pitched your tent using GPS, meaning that its location will be saved as a pin on your phone's map, making finding it later on a much easier mission.

The app has been created by outdoors company Boutique Camping and also includes features that will let you mark spots that you and your friends have agreed as a meeting point and mark out toilets that have the shortest wait. Other features include a compass and the ability to sync your map with a friend. And best of all – it’s free.

It’s currently only available on iPhone but hopefully, an Android version will be released soon so that the next festival that you go to won’t be spent wandering around a campsite and instead will be spent seamlessly going from place to place without going too off track.
