Snapchat Launches New Update

Snapchat has taken a leaf out Instagram’s book (role reversal or what?), you can now rewind and watch a story without notifying the snapper in question. Like most Snapchat updates, the feature is hidden, by tapping the left of the screen you will be given an option to ‘go back’ and watch the story again. Most of us click through it at lightning speed and catch a blur of something we wish we could have watched, and hurray! Now we can.

Another feature, which again assists our social media stalking, allows you to send one friends story to another. No more print screening and sending it through to WhatsApp, just hold down the story you want to pass on and a share menu will appear. This is just excellent. No more clogging up your camera roll with freaky print screens, no more confusion when you find said images in your iCloud months later and the best of all, no more tell-tale feature.

The third and final new feature is 'world lenses.' Similar to the front facing real time filters, this update lets you transform the world around you. This is my favourite new feature, it's a bit like having one of those kawaii sticker booth frames on anything you please. This update is apparently in prep for the 'Spectacles' they plan to bring out, glasses you wear to view an augmented reality. Currently there are 7 ‘worlds’ you can transform your environment in to, including rainbows, clouds and hearts - just tap the screen whilst on the rear camera and swipe through the new lenses. Nice lovely things to brighten any grey day like today.

So thank you Snapchat, for making it easier for us to lurk online and making everything seem a bit prettier - you always have our back.
