Fine jewellery etailer Diamond Hedge has created a new augmented reality app that allows you to do just that – virtually, of course – so that you can see exactly what your dream rock would look like on your ring finger. Forget breakfast at Tiffany’s and risking getting caught out trying on diamonds – you can do this from the comfort of your own home.
You can choose the carat size, from a humble 1ct to 5ct, diamond shape - options include emerald, round, princess, oval, cushion, heart and pear - and the band, which can be white gold, rose gold, yellow gold, twisted, jewelled – you name it. Next you simply take your phone’s camera and focus it on your hand, and hey presto, you can drag the ring onto it.
There’s an option to buy the ring that you’ve created afterwards, or you could just leave your phone lying around in front of your boyfriend so that he gets the hint…
